The Sanders Menswear FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) aims to answer some of the most commonly asked questions we get asked regarding us, our menswear, hire wear, menswear shops, website and online store.

So without further ado, lets take a look at some of the most commonly asked questions we receive (simply click on a question below for the answer)…

Online Store and ordering online…

Do you sell menswear online?

We're delighted to report that yes, we finally do right here in our new online store!

By popular demand, after 80 years of trading on the high street, selling quality menswear from world class brands to our local customers, we've now also taking our experience and expertise to a worldwide audience in the realm of online retail.

To begin with, we're starting out with a continually growing selection of some of our more popular menswear items chosen from carefully selected quality menswear brands in our online menswear shop.

As this is new territory for us, we're easing ourselves gently into things.

However, we hope you'll be pleased to know that we fully intend to extend the range of menswear carried in our online store gradually in the coming weeks and months ahead to carry much more of the extensive range of quality menswear that can be found in our high street shops, so be sure to stay tuned, and check back often for new additions in the weeks ahead, and if you haven't already done so, sign up to our Mailing List / Newsletter, and be sure to follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ to make sure you don't miss any exciting updates from us!

Do you sell online to overseas destinations outside of the United Kingdom?

Yes! We're happy to ship to most destinations across the globe with the exception of those that we are prohibited from doing so due to government sanctions and embargoes or any other reason that may prevent us from doing so.

If you are unsure, you can always check with us before placing your order if we are able to ship to your country. If you do place an order and subsequently find we are unable to ship to your destination your order will be cancelled.

You offer FREE delivery?

Yes we offer absolutely FREE delivery for destinations within mainland United Kingdom only (England, Scotland (including the Highland and Islands), Wales, Northern Ireland, Scilly Isles and the Isle of Man).

Our free delivery offer comes as standard on all UK mainland based orders and will generally take approximately 3 to 5 days to arrive.

If you require items more urgently, you can of course upgrade your delivery, at cost, to a range of speedier delivery options we've made available including Next Day and Saturday deliveries as long as we receive your order in time, full details of which can be found on our Dispatch, Delivery & Returns page.

If you live elsewhere in the world outside of mainland United Kingdom, unfortunately we are unable to offer our free delivery service to you. However, we have put together an extensive range of delivery options for most destinations across the globe to suit a variety of different budgets and delivery times as you will see during the checkout process.

What methods of payment do you accept online?

We're happy to accept a variety of the most popular credit and debit cards online including VISA, MasterCard, JCB and Maestro. The up to date list of payment cards accepted online can always be found towards the bottom right hand corner of any page in our online store.

If you wish to pay by a card not displayed there, please telephone us for advice as it's a possibility we may be able to take your order and payment over the telephone.

My order hasn't arrived, is damaged or is missing items, what should I do?

First of all, we're really sorry you've experienced a problem, please accept our apologies.

High Street Shops…

You have high street shops? Where are they located?

Yes, Sanders Menswear have been trading on the high street for 80 years!

We have two high street shops located in the heart of the East Midlands region of the United Kingdom, situated in the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire areas, with a high street shop located in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, and a second shop located in Alfreton, Derbyshire.

Our Eastwood shop is our main shop and head office and also contains a larger selection of mens hirewear from the Peter Posh Hirewear collection and the Cameron Ross Highland wear hire wear collection to view and try on.

However, both of our high street shops contain an extensive range of quality menswear from some of the finest menswear brands in the world, often internationally recognised for their quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, exquisitely stylish design flair, comprehensive manufacturing processes - sometimes of a highly ethical nature and in many cases have been established and manufacturing quality menswear garments for many decades including Barbour, Fynch-Hatton, Meyer, Peter England, Viyella, Tootal and many more!

What forms of payment do you accept?

In our high street shops, we accept most major debit and credit cards. We can also of course accept cash (in GBP £ Sterling).

Hire Wear…

How can I get a hire wear brochure?

Hopefully you've discovered the stunning range of exquisitely stylish mens formal suit hire wear from the Peter Posh collection and the Cameron Ross Highland wear hire wear collection here on our website.

Firstly, you can view online versions of the Peter Posh Hire Wear collection here, and the Peter Posh Evening Wear and Prom Wear collection here, and the Cameron Ross Highland Wear hire wear collection can be viewed online from here.

However, if you're seriously considering using Sanders Menswear for your formal suit hire requirements and live regionally close to either of our two high street shops for a fitting appointment then you will probably like a brochure for you and your party to peruse at your leisure before booking a fitting appointment with us. We're more than happy to send out our latest Peter Posh and Cameron Ross brochures on request to those living regionally close enough to come in for a fitting appointment in our high street shops (i.e. Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and the counties immediately surrounding them).

To request a brochure, simply visit our Request a brochure page, fill in the form and we'll be delighted to get your brochure(s) of choice out to you in the post at the earliest opportunity.

How do I book a fitting appointment?

When you're ready to order your hire wear, you and your party will of course need to come in and see us at either of our high street shops for a fitting, so we can ensure you and your party look your absolute very best for that special occasion!

To ensure we are able to give you and your party members the swift and undivided attention you deserve when it comes to a fitting, we strongly urge that you book a fitting appointment in advance with us using our 'Book A Fitting Appointment' form.

Please be aware that all Saturday fittings MUST now be booked in advance as Saturdays can obviously be a tremendously busy time for us in-store.

Furthermore, whilst we endeavour to carry most items from the Peter Posh Formal Suit Hire wear collection, the Peter Posh Evening Wear and Prom Wear collection together with the Cameron Ross Highland wear collection in a range of the most popular sizes with our Eastwood shop having the largest selection of our two shops, we sometimes may not have your size in stock for trying on when you come to see us in store as the sheer number of items in each collection coupled with all their different sizes make it impossible for us to stock all items.

However, don't fear if we don't have your size in stock to try on when you come to visit us! We are able to source any item from these hire wear collections at any size that is manufactured ready in time for your special day!

I have been invited to an event at short notice that requires formal wear attire, can Sanders Menswear help me?

If you've been invited to an event at short notice that requires formal wear attire, or simply forgot about an upcoming event requiring formal wear, or have only just realised the event you are due to attend requires formal wear attire, or perhaps you experienced some kind of problem with another hire wear company leaving you in limbo for a special occasion then don't worry as Sanders Menswear can often help!

Simply contact us with your requirements for advice, and we'll do our best to help.

We carry much of the Peter Posh hire wear collection and the Cameron Ross Highland wear collection in our high street shops in a range of the most popular sizes so we are often able to provide exactly what you are looking for in your size at short notice in an emergency, even on the same day as your event.

However, we can't always guarantee we'll be able to assist on the same day or at very short notice, and there may be an additional fee associated with doing so, so we definitely recommend not depending on this and doing your best wherever possible to ensure you have arranged your hire wear in good time for your event - but remember we can often usually help in urgent situations, so don't be afraid to ask us!

I'm looking to hire Highland Wear, however I don't see my family tartan, can you source other tartans?

Whilst the Cameron Ross Highland Wear range contains a stunning array of traditional Scottish and Celtic tartans in Pure New Wool, we do occasionally get asked if we can source a particular family tartan when it comes to Highland Wear hire.

The answer is that we are sometimes able to source similar tartans to your family tartan outside of the Cameron Ross Highland Wear range, though this is obviously usually at extra cost to us, which we then have to pass on to you.

In short the best thing to do is to contact us with your requirements and for advice and we'll do our best to see if we can assist you.


Why should I choose Sanders Menswear?

We thought about this one very carefully, and when we started thinking of reasons, we found it difficult to stop! We found so many good reasons why we believe you should shop with Sanders Menswear for your menswear, tailoring and formal suit hirewear requirements, that we even decided to put together this guide... 'Why Choose Sanders Menswear'! Hopefully it will answer your question!

I'm having difficulty viewing and using your website on my mobile device, what should I do?

We're really sorry to hear you're having problems, please accept our sincere apologies as we want our site to be as accessible as it possibly can be.

Whilst our site is perfectly viewable and useable on desktop computers, laptops, most tablet devices and some smartphones, we are aware of some shortcomings and difficulties when it comes to viewing and using the site on some smaller mobile devices.

This is something we're hoping to fully rectify in times ahead. However, it's a large undertaking for our limited resources and will take time for us to sort.

So in the meantime, we recommend if you are having difficulties browsing and using the site on your mobile device to try accessing it on a larger device such as a tablet, laptop or desktop computer.

Do you sell gift vouchers?

Yes we certainly do!

Although at this point in time our gift vouchers are only available for purchase in our high street shops. However, we are hoping to be able to make them available for online purchase in the near future.

Simply ask in any of our shops at the checkout, and one of our friendly sales assistants will be only too pleased to assist with your gift voucher purchase.

How do I register a complaint?

Whilst this isn't a frequently asked question, we thought it would be useful for you to know what to do in the unfortunate and rare event that you should experience an issue or problem of some nature with us that you wish to register a complaint about.

First of all, we'd like to say that if you have experienced a problem, we're genuinely sorry, we of course only want our customers to be happy with the products they buy and the service they receive from us.

If your complaint is in relation to an online purchase and there has been an issue of some sort with your order, such as missing items in an order, faulty goods, non-arrival etc., or you would like to cancel and return an item, please be sure to read our terms and conditions for further information.

If you wish to tell us about any problem you may have had and / or want to register a formal complaint, we recommend writing to us or contacting us via our website.

Complaints in writing should be addressed to:

and should contain as much information as possible that could assist us in investigating your complaint.

Alternatively, you can also make a complaint using our Feedback form (selecting 'Complaint' as the topic for any formal complaints). Again, please give us as much information as you possibly can about the precise nature of the difficulty / issue you have encountered that has caused you to register a complaint, and state what you would like us to do, if anything, in order to rectify the problem.

All complaints are passed on to and processed by senior management here at Sanders Menswear, and we can assure you we'll look into your complaint swiftly and investigate as thoroughly as we can.

We will ensure any complaints received are acknowledged within 5 working days, hopefully sooner, and ensure a full written response is issued within 20 working days, again, hopefully sooner. If for any reason our investigation will take longer we will notify you and keep you informed as to our progress.
