Mens Ascot Wear requires morning dress in the Royal Enclosure, although if you only have admission to the general public areas then a smart suit should be sufficient enough.
So if you have Royal Enclosure access, or want to stand out from the crowd in the general public areas then a black morning tailcoat is usually the norm for such events, although grey is also permissible. Trousers should be grey with black pinstripes, and collars and cuffs should be white, with around about one inch of cuff on display.
